Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte S.A. (Edenor) is the largest electricity distribution company in Argentina in terms of number of customers and electricity sold (both in GWh and Pesos). At December 31st, 2020 we have the highest number of customers in the country, which amountes over three million, and our energy purchases represent 20% of the country’s overall energy demand in 2020. 

The company holds a concession to distribute electricity exclusively in the northwestern zone of the greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area and the northern part of the city of Buenos Aires, which has a population of approximately 9 million people and an area of 4,637 sq. km.

In 2020, Edenor sold 20,179 GWh of energy and purchased 25,124 GWh of energy, with net sales of approximately Ps. 91 billion and a net Loss of Ps. 17,698 million (in functional currency) mainly due to the impairment of assets for $ 17,396 million registered in the year.

Edenor operates in a highly regulated environment. Our tariffs and the other terms of our concession are subject to regulation by the Argentine government, acting through the Secretariat of Energy reporting to the Ministry of Finance and to the Argentine National Electricity Regulator (ENRE).
